I was born to a family of four
In a hospital room near Norfolk, VA - where my father was raised
I cried all day, I cried all night
Was a baby when we moved away, but oh, the fright
I don't know where home is
So many places,
And I'm left with a void that none can fill
Such is the life of a Third Culture Kid
We stayed in France ten years or so
But when we went stateside my folks said 'We're going home'
"I feel more at home in France than here"
I thought to myself every single year
I don't know where home is
So many places,
And I'm left with a void that none can fill
Such is the life of a Third Culture Kid
We moved back to Virginia two years on the dot
I told you France, I'd miss you, and I missed you a lot
This wasn't America as I thought it would be
This would never be home, at least not to me
I don't know where home is
So many places,
And I'm left with a void that none can fill
Such is the life of a Third Culture Kid
We moved back to Europe, but not where I called home
That wasn't where God wanted us to go
In Belgium six years I learned who I was and what I loved
But that wasn't all of me or the end and it wasn't enough
I don't know where home is
So many places,
And I'm left with a void that none can fill
Such is the life of a Third Culture Kid
I graduated high school 2010 in June
Moved off to college, but I still sing the same tune
I'm finding new things, learning about myself every day
Though I'm growing so much, I've still gotta say
That I don't know where home is
So many places,
And I'm left with a void that none can fill
Such is the life of a Third Culture Kid
